Fundamental Techniques: Locomotive and non-locomotive Tactics/Problems to Solve: · When does the music stops and starts? · Locate where the different colored hoops are? Equipment: Colored hoops Description of Play: · Students have their own hoops · When the music starts, students must perform a task ask by the teacher inside and outside their hoops (hop, 2 body parts touching the ground inside and outside, etc.) Layer 1: · When the music starts students must move around the playing area in a manner ask by the teacher · When the music stops they must go back to their hoops Layer 2: · When the music stops students must go to a different hoop but it must be the same color as their first hoop Layer 3: · When the music stops the teacher calls out one or many colors and the students must go to the hoop(s) corresponding to the color(s) Modifications: · Student use different objects (skipping ropes) and they must start skipping when the music stops · Combine with games like “On The Lines, Off The Lines” · Certain hoops for boys and others for girls Safety: · Ensure the hoops are well spread out · Ensure that there are enough hoops of the same colors so students don’t collide to the same hoop because there is only one of a certain color · Make sure students keep their heads up |
