Fundamental Techniques: Locomotive, and manipulative Tactics/Problems to Solve Offence: Strike the object, and score points Defense: Field the object and prevent the other team from scoring Equipment: Cones, balls, racquets, bats, Description of Play: · Strikers must hit the ball with the implement they want (racquet or bat) and run to the safe zone without getting touched by the ball · A teammate on the side throws the ball to the striker · In order to score a point the students must run from the safe zone back to the striking zone without getting touched by the ball · The fielders are allowed 3 steps in possession of the ball · Once all the strikers have hit the ball, the 2 teams switch roles Layer 1: · The strikers are not allowed to hit the ball in such a way that it would hit the wall Layer 2: · If the ball hits the wall and the fielders catch it before it bounces on the ground, the striker is out Layer 3: · If the ball touches the wall beyond a certain height it is a homerun, if it hit the backboard of the basketball hoop it is 5 points, if it goes into the hoop it is 10 points Modifications: · Change the implement and ball types being used · Change the safe zone and playing area dimensions Safety: · Make sure the students are far enough from the one striking · Make sure the fielders don’t throw the ball in a way that could harm the other students |
